Who Can Participate

 

The Horizon Coding Olympiad welcomes individual participation from students in Grades 5 to 12, ensuring inclusivity across all skill levels. This event is designed to inspire both beginners taking their first steps into coding and experienced coders ready to tackle more advanced challenges. Regardless of prior knowledge, the Olympiad fosters an engaging environment that supports learning, exploration, and skill development.

 

Key Participation Details

 

  • Eligibility: Open to students in Grades 5 – 12.
  • Programming Languages: Python.
  • Exam Language: English.
  • Evaluation: Challenges are tailored to grade levels for fair and accurate scoring.
  • Recognition: The top 3 performers in each grade qualify for special discounts for the Grand Final Program, contingent on meeting other eligibility requirements.

 

Programming Language: Python

 

Python is the exclusive programming language for the Horizon Coding Olympiad. Eligibility and Categories

 

The competition is open to students from Grades 5 to 11, divided into the following categories:

Junior Python Coding: Grades 5 – 8

Senior Python Coding: Grades 9 – 12

 

Qualification Round

 

Number of Questions: 20 multiple-choice questions

Duration: 60 minutes

Language: English

Mode: Online examination

All participants receive a Certificate of Participation.

 

Scoring

 

Correct Answer: 5 points

Unanswered: 0 points

Participants scoring at least 35% in the Qualification Round are eligible for the Global Round.

 

Registration and Fees

 

Registration: Online via the Horizon Olympiad website or via official representatives in their respective countries.

Fee: $20 per participant
