HORIZON ART PROJECT

Through the Horizon Olympiad Art initiative, we engage the global community in addressing environmental challenges and implementing sustainable solutions through artistic expression.

Each Horizon Art project can be prepared and presented by one students.

ART | Photography

Photography - whether photojournalistic, documentary, experimental, or expressive - serves as a powerful tool to inspire, inform, and motivate viewers through compelling environmental narratives. Horizon photography showcases diverse artistic perspectives that capture both the raw beauty of our environment and the reality of human impact on nature, delivering authentic representations of the world around us.

Capturing scenes of environmental degradation and pollution through a powerful emotional lens drives deeper environmental awareness than pristine landscape shots. Through compelling photographic storytelling, we empower communities to take decisive action on endangered cultures, threatened environments, and critical social issues.

Horizon photography powerfully captures the dynamic interplay between natural systems and environmental challenges, revealing both resilience and vulnerability. Our photographers decisively document societal impacts through construction, pollution, and land management while skillfully portraying the vital relationship between cities, human activity, and nature. Even seemingly modest subjects - like vegetation breaking through urban infrastructure - effectively illustrate nature's persistence and serve as compelling artistic inspiration.

ART | Visual Communications and Design

A Horizon poster drives viewers to challenge their perspectives on environmental issues and inspires meaningful behavioral changes. Your poster will tackle critical environmental challenges - from global warming and water pollution to air quality and waste management - through compelling visual storytelling. Create your vision digitally or through traditional painting methods (including pencil). The artwork must predominantly (90% or more) be your own original creation.

ART | Masterworks

Masterwork art masterfully combines multiple artistic mediums into a single compelling artwork. Picture this: starting with bold ink strokes, layering vibrant watercolors, adding precise colored pencil highlights, and then incorporating dynamic elements like photo collages and recycled materials. These diverse components come together to create striking three-dimensional effects that elevate the piece beyond traditional flat artwork.

In creating your Horizon Masterwork piece, you'll channel your environmental passion into a distinctive artwork that makes a statement. Your piece will stand out through its three-dimensional composition, achieved through thoughtfully integrated elements like layered colored paper cutouts. We strongly encourage the creative use of recycled materials - from paper and postcards to newspapers, cans, and fabric - to build your three-dimensional vision. Remember to secure your artwork with a sturdy backing that supports all components effectively. Keep the final depth within 8" (12 cm) to ensure proper display.
